Depending on your setup we’d recommend a few options for you…

First, are you using a shopping cart that includes an Autoresponder? If yes – then we’d automatically recommend that you use that versus adding another system and additional expense into the mix. If you’d like an all-in-one system, highly recommend KickStartCart.

Secondly, if you are just looking for an autoresponder system with no shopping cart, then we’d recommend Aweber which you can send your emails and ezine through as you wish.

Personally we’ve been established with WAHMCart since 2009 and use that for our shopping cart and autoresponder system, so you will see my email delivered through WAHMCart’s system.

BackupBuddy ERROR: Register Globals and other PHP Settings

I love my hosting service which is HostGator. I have used 3 hosting companies since I have been online with my first website (yours’ truly StaciJansma.com on April 29, 2009). How exciting right!

I first had GoDaddy – I wanted everything together so I figured I would get my domain with GoDaddy – get my hosting with GoDaddy and be happy. Soon did I realize that I just didn’t like GoDaddy for hosting. It seemed to be more confusing for me or try to get others to help guide me – because everyone disliked GoDaddy hosting.

I soon joined MomWebs as I was a member of MomMasterminds and was pretty happy with my websites. My websites didn’t experience many issues or downtime however my clients’ had a bubble in their hosting where their sites were down for a few days. The hosting was restored quickly – but some of the content was just lost because a backup wasn’t set within the past week prior to the crash of their server. This has lead me to ensure my hosting is up to par and so is my backup plan.

I was happy to join HostGator as I heard so many great things about their hosting and have been told by a client, Once you go to HostGator – you just don’t switch. So that made me feel like I would be in the right place. I switched all my domains (about 12 at the time and all the wordpress websites associated with it). Once I moved over – then soon realized my backup plan of using BackupBuddy was not happy. Saw a few flags/warnings – so I reached out to BackupBuddy support and soon found out that my hosting needed to be changed to accommodate these warnings. I knew that I needed changes when I was with MomWebs but they were not willing to allow the changes for the plugin to work – that was my main reason for moving from MomWebs to HostGator.

I jumped on Live Chat with HostGator and copied what BackupBuddy forum support told me and soon found out that the changes can be easily done. So if you are running BackupBuddy and get a warning under Server Settings or an error – then reach out to BackupBuddy forum support – because they are REALLY helpful.

Do you love your hosting? I do!

Having good hosting can really help to provide you peace of mind and helps to boost your confidence when running any online business. “Good” Hosting gives you the ability to have your site and running so your visitors can come and view, read, check out for a service or product and get in touch with you as needed.

I switched hosting companies in September and couldn’t be more happy because it works great with my backup service plugin that automates my backup process for me as well as when I wanted to switch my 13 domains (plus site files) from my old hosting to hostgator they easily helped me to move everything over.

My recommendation for you is get “Good” hosting if you don’t have it already with HostGator.com. Then click on http://transfer.hostgator.com to get your sites transferred over. The process takes about 48 hours from beginning to end and then you need to allow another 48 hours once they are complete with the transfer process before you cancel your old hosting. Then it’s smooth sailing from there.

Which plan? Hatchling is for ONE domain/website. Baby is for multiple… so if you are planning on growing and adding more domains – then sign up with Baby and get rocking ‘n rolling.

I could not run my business without HostGator. Very thankful to receive the recommendation from a client!

Did You Hear About Fantastico replaced by Softaculous?

Asked my hosting, MomWebs – why is Fantastico not available through Cpanel no longer:

On most Mom Webs servers Fantastico has now been replaced by Softaculous. The icon for Softaculous is near where the Fantastico icon was on the front cpanel page.

Softaculuous does a better job of keeping the scripts up to date, and people say that it’s easier to use.

Website Hosting Checklist – How To Find The Right Provider

Choosing a website host is an important decision. You want a host that is affordable. However, you also want a website host that offers the features and functions you need. Here’s a quick checklist to make sure you’re finding the right provider.

Is their control panel user friendly? Many hosts offer free demonstrations or tours. Take advantage of these to make sure it’s a control panel that makes sense and is easy to use.

Building your own site or looking for a website builder too? Some website hosts offer site building tools. These can be wonderfully useful if you’re not interested in getting into the technological side of building a website. However, if you are building your own website using any number of software programs or languages, make sure the host has FTP transfer. This is the system you’ll use to upload your web pages to your host’s server.

Can you upload your files easily? Some website hosts are only compatible with certain file types. Make sure your website builder of choice works with your host before you pay for their services.

Are they big enough for your needs? Look for data space, bandwidth and file size limitations. You don’t need to go crazy however a host does need to accommodate your current needs and give you some room to grow.

Server reliability. Occasional downtime is expected however it should be rare and you should be forewarned when the servers are going to be down. Ideally, your host’s server should be up and running 99% of the time.

Security. If you’re doing business online then security is a must. Even if you’re not doing business online, you’ll want to do everything you can to protect your website from hackers. A secure host is essential.

Features and functions. What do you need your website to have?  Do you need a shopping cart, email or autoresponders? Do you need to be able to sell advertising? Do you want analytic and reporting functions to track traffic and website visitor behavior?  Make sure your website host has all the features and functions you need before you sign up and transfer your domain.

User reviews. This is the last thing to look at once you’ve narrowed down yoru choices and before you compare price. Make sure the company has a solid reputation in the industry. There are a lot of resellers out there, you also want to make sure you’re dealing with an acutal hosting company and not a reseller – you’ll get a better price and better customer support.

Finally, it’s time to compare price. If a website host meets all of the above criteria and fits your budget, you’ve found a good company. There are many wonderful website hosts out there. Spend a bit of time researching based on your needs and you can’t go wrong.

In March, I switched from GoDaddy to MomWebs hosting – I have been very happy with MomWebs and feel more in control of my website. If there is something I am unsure of – I know I can ask them and trust their response. Can you say that you trust your hosting – the company that keeps your website up 24/7 so you can earn money while you sleep?

Top 5 reasons for using MomWebs! #3 Do you know your Hosting Support by First Name?

I started my online quest about a year ago venturing into my service-based website and about 6 months later started to venture into a new business ideas and that means — I needed another domain, another website to be hosted, new theme/design and more.

What I didn’t realize is as your websites/domains grow – so does your hosting plan (or should I say your hosting plan needs to grow with you!) As a business owner – you can’t have limitations – limitations are a blocker – and you have to do whatever you can to bypass any limitations/boundaries. So what I knew was I needed a bigger plan with my then hosting company, which was GoDaddy. At that point, I was hearing lots of good things about MomWebs and why MomWebs is highly recommended by many work-at-home moms. What I did not see was the reason why I should be using them instead of GoDaddy. The reason came to me through experience, let me explain my story a bit for you by telling you my top 5 reasons for using MomWebs.

1. Price Savings when you pay for one-year in advance! This is WHY I use MomWebs!

2. Backups Included in the hosting plan – with GoDaddy you have to pay for this service and with MomWebs, the backup is available from the previous day! This is WHY I use MomWebs!

3. SUPPORT! Need I say more? Right now if you haven’t used MomWebs – listen up – You can email them to help switch one domain plus website files to another – there is a fee but they can help you with it. Let them do the work for you so you can keep doing what you love – creating your products and working for your clients. When you first switch to MomWebs they will take all your current domains/website files and transfer them for you and MomWebs will provide you with the little guidance that you need along the way. And…

MomWebs is willing to help the small business owner to get the technical things done when you need it. And I know my hosting support by first name, Do YOU? Just another reason, WHY I use MomWebs!

4. TRUST!! I feel I can trust them to help me with my websites and this is why…

I feel that I was able to build a personal relationship with MomWebs before I even paid them 1 cent. Let me tell you why…

I was helping a client out with her website and like me, she was using GoDaddy. We were trying to get things moved around and found out what we can and can’t do. I asked these same questions to GoDaddy and at the time, either I had a customer service representative that really had no clue what they were talking about OR they just didn’t care. If I am paying for a service and find out that the company doesn’t care about me or help me when I notify them – then I look for a new service. MomWebs = Good Customer Service, This is WHY I use MomWebs!

5. Everything that makes up MomWebs: Reliable Website Hosting! Look what your account would include once you switch to MomWebs:

Every hosting plan includes:
cPanel control panel 24/7 tech support
Unlimited email addresses Spam filtering
Unlimited databases Web Traffic Statistics
Unlimited FTP accounts .htaccess, PHP, Perl, CGI
Fantastico auto-installer (install WordPress for free!) Web Based File Manager

This is my Plan: Multi Plan

Host multiple sites for one low fee!

  • 1000 MB disk space
  • 40 GB of bandwidth per month
  • WHM Reseller Control Panel
  • cPanel for each site
  • $10.00 per month
  • or pay $29 quarterly and save $4 a year
  • or pay $110 yearly and save $10 a year

This is WHY I use MomWebs Hosting! So what are you waiting for, Click to switch to MomWebs Hosting today!
